I recently moved to Boston and had a friend coming to visit, so I wanted some help discovering the city and its charms. Since I’m new here, I wasn’t really sure where to start. I signed up for a YankeeTravel itinerary planning session, and in about 50 minutes I got lots of fun ideas for exploring downtown Boston, Back Bay, Brookline, and Cambridge, along with several museums, all based on my personal interests. Sean even pointed me to a place to get freshly cooked lobster.The session was definitely worth it. We were first time vacation visitors to Boston and were planning a 5 day visit. After speaking with Sean Delaney @YankeeTravelUS, we were convinced that 5 days was not enough time as there was plenty to see in Boston. So we changed our plans, added a couple of days, and had a great time.Sean’s advice and recommendations were spot on. He gave us guidance on which neighbourhood would be best to find accommodations that were convenient for our interests, how to use public transit effectively and efficiently with a Charlie Card, and what historical, educational, and cultural sights (and sites) would interest us. On Sean’s advice, we added a day trip to Salem, where we found the Exeter Peabody Museum, much to our delight. His restaurant recommendations were outstanding. He also checked in with us as our plan came together to make sure we were good to go. Thanks Sean - you made our trip most memorable.
I have explored Boston since I was old enough to find my way to Harvard Square’s subway station plus the few stops to Downtown or ride my bicycle along the Charles River to Red Sox games at Fenway Park.
I began scouting Massachusetts’ coast as a teenager the day my parents first gave me the keys to their car! Also in my teens, I hiked, canoed, and camped our four northernmost states. More recently I have toured 20,000 miles of New England by motorcycle, thousands more by automobile, and watched ospreys dive for fish in a river next to an excellent beer garden up north.
