Frequently Asked Questions
Does YankeeTravel.US have review pages which we can read?
Yes! These are my own YankeeTravel.US review pages, from TripAdvisor and from Yelp!, both new as of early December 2024:

While I build my own business, these very positive reviews come from leading public and private food tours in Boston for a large international tour company, as “Sean D.”:
Is YankeeTravel.US a travel agency?
YankeeTravel.US is not a travel agency. I help visitors enjoy Boston, and Massachusetts, and all New England as I have, meeting them on my web/audio bridge to help them think through and plan their travel here, and / or guiding them in person on my walking tours around Boston, Cambridge, and other parts of greater Boston. Customers make their own transportation, lodging, and food arrangements based on YankeeTravel.US suggestions helping them make the best and most economical arrangements.
Why is an in-take form required?
Customers’ in-take form responses make any 50-minute itinerary planning session more productive, and also help adjust walking tours to guest parties’ interests. Based on customer in-take form responses, YankeeTravel.US meets customers prepared with local insights and travel ideas suitable for whatever trip length, intended destination(s), age range, particular interests, etc.
What is New England?
New England is the northeastern-most region of the United States! Six states make up New England: Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. These states share many common splendors, while boasting many loveably unique ones. Boston is within a three-hour drive of all New England except northernmost Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
What is the best month to visit?
Greater Boston, as well as all of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, offer four distinct seasons of outdoor beauty plus world-class museums, theatres, sports centers, and restaurants sheltered from heat, rain and snow. For example, in winter, some adventurous people just like you alpine or cross-country ski and ocean surf in the same day!
What if the weather forecast for a particular tour date is poor?
Walking tours run all year long including during the winter months, and in sun, rain, wind, and light snow. YankeeTravel.US will cancel walking tours around any local weather or other emergency notice given by Massachusetts or U.S. authorities. Customers booking itinerary planning sessions can request suggestions for indoor options in cases of inclement weather.
What should we see and do?
This depends on the age of a group, how much time it has in the area, and what the group thinks would be fun! Generally, I recommend that visitors try to explore somewhere outside of Boston because history and natural beauty abound across this region, and because all six states are dotted with quaint, welcoming, and comfortable towns and small cities. For visitors with only a few nights in Boston, half-day trips to Cambridge, Brookline, or Salem–or even to parts of Rhode Island or New Hampshire–really add to their experiences and appreciation for the whole region.
