Why visit New England?

Walking / bicycling paths and some public transportation options connect important sites belonging to the Battles of Lexington and Concord. The greatest number of casualties took place in Cambridge that day though.
Nubble or Cape Neddick Lighthouse is not the only Maine lighthouse worth seeing.
The USS Constitution fought in War of 1812 / Seven Years' War actions from the Madeira Islands to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys captured Fort Ticonderoga in late 1775 and by doing so enabled George Washington to drive English military forces out of Boston on Saint Patrick's Day, 1776.
Visit at least one of southern New England's many marvelous vineyards and wineries.
It took vision and considerable civil engineering to dock the Ticonderoga at Vermont's Shelburne Museum.

Why visit and get to know New England? After decades of business and leisure travel thrills on five continents — motorcycling in six countries on four continents, for example — I chose to make this remarkable area my permanent home. Whether you’ll arrive by land, sea, or air, I sing the praises of Boston, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island to any traveler, for visits any time of year.

Why? For our natural and architectural wonders, humanity and vibrant culture, 400 years of business innovation and entrepreneurship, artisanal agriculture and excellent restaurants, outsized role in our nation’s development, and ongoing positive influence enriching the future of this world.

Too many times during travels afar, I have met people who loved their visits here but missed nearby sites, food, history, and ways to get to know New Englanders which could have made their visits even better. From my own self-guided travels, I know that insider knowledge in advance matters.

Now I help visitors enjoy Boston, and Massachusetts, and all New England as I do, meeting them on my web/audio bridge to help them think through and plan their travel here, and / or by guiding them in person on my private tours around Boston, Cambridge, and other parts of greater Boston.

Do you want to alpine or cross-country ski in the morning then ocean surf in the afternoon? Do you want to explore three different states in one day? This fourth-generation local’s Travel Planning Sessions can help you do that.

Do you want to tour greater Boston with a fourth-generation local? All of my Private Walking Tours give that experience, along with a few generations of local insights.

So, whether in a Travel Planning Session and / or on one of our Private Walking Tours, let’s get together about what you see and do, eat and drink, ponder and make your own during your visit here!

And if it ain’t YankeeTravel.US, then it ain’t authentic New England!
